Returns for Leukemia bottle drive returns May 26 & 27

Across Ontario, UFCW Canada Local 12R24 members look forward to welcoming you and your support on the weekend of May 26 for the annual Returns for Leukemia.

A combined effort of Local 12R24 and The Beer Store (Ontario's beer retailer), Returns for Leukemia is the hugely successful bottle drive where donations of customers' bottle deposits go directly to support the research efforts of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada (LLSC).

Last year's event raised an astounding $1,212,712 for the LLSC, as part of UFCW Canada's annual fundraising for research into a cure and more effective treatments from leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's Disease and other forms of blood cancers.

This year’s Returns for Leukemia will be held on May 26 and 27 at Beers Stores across Ontario. Throughout the weekend after the May 21 holiday, customers will be invited to donate all or a portion of their empty bottles (or cash) – with 100% of the proceeds going directly to the LLSC.

In addition to donating your empties, UFCW Canada members, families and friends in Ontario can also donate their time as volunteers to assist in greeting customers and collecting their empties on May 26 and 27.
