UFCW Canada activists and their families joined over a million masqueraders and spectators at the Toronto Caribana Parade on August 4. Once again joining long-time community partner and 16-time Band of the Year Winner, the Louis Saldenah Mas-K Club, UFCW Canada activists from Locals 12R24, 175 & 633, 1000A, 1993, and the National Office enthusiastically took part in the world’s largest Caribbean cultural celebration outside of the Caribbean.

“Caribana is an outstanding event that UFCW Canada looks forward to being part of every year,” says UFCW Canada National President Hanley, who led the union’s delegation of parade marshals and masqueraders at the carnival for the sixth year in a row.

Over the past six years, UFCW Canada has become the labour movement’s leading force at the Toronto Caribana Parade – and throughout the entire Caribana season – by working closely with leading members of the Caribbean community like the Saldenah Mas Camp.
