Call centre workers at Answernet Telepartners join the union – UFCW 206

Toronto – August 11, 2014 – Workers at Answernet Telepartners in Toronto, Ontario are the newest members of UFCW Canada Local 206 after voting to join the union in late July.

The Answernet employees work as customer service representatives at a full service call centre that provides bilingual telephone answering and telemarketing services throughout Canada.

"I would like to congratulate the new members at Answernet, who showed great courage and persistence in their campaign to unionize," says UFCW Canada Local 206 President Wayne Hanley. "Our union is extremely proud of these employees for being so united and determined in making their call centre a better place to work," Brother Hanley adds.

The Answernet workers join many other UFCW Canada members who work in the telemarketing industry. UFCW Canada is the country's leading private sector union, representing more than a quarter of a million members in various industries across Canada.
