Saint-Damase, Que. – October 20, 2014 – Workers at Spécialités Lassonde in Saint-Damase, Quebec are the newest members of UFCW Canada Local 1991-P after voting to join the union earlier this year.

The Spécialités Lassonde employees work as quality control advisers for one of the leading specialty food development and manufacturing companies in Canada, best known for products such as Canton fondue broths and Canadian Club barbecue sauces.

The new Local 1991-P members join dozens of other Spécialités Lassonde workers who have been members of UFCW Canada since 2003.

"I want to personally welcome the new members from Spécialités Lassonde to the Local 1991-P family," says Mario Maisonneuve, President of UFCW Canada Local 1991-P. "These members have chosen to join the largest food and commercial workers’ union in Canada, and we are committed to ensuring that they are represented fairly and equitably in the workplace," Brother Maisonneuve adds.
