Montreal – October 27, 2014 – The Quebec Labour Relations Board (Commission des relations du travail) has certified members working at Châtel Automobiles Ltée (Mercedes-Benz Québec) as a new UFCW Canada Local 501 bargaining unit, in a decision delivered on October 10.
The members at Châtel Automobiles Ltée work as mechanics and parts clerks at this Mercedes-Benz dealership in Quebec City. The new members join the ranks of more than 11,000 UFCW Canada Local 501 members; part of Canada’s and North America’s most progressive union. The new members benefit from the expertise of an organization that strives to meet their needs, and supports them in dealing with their employment and workplace issues.
“We are proud and happy to welcome our members at Châtel Automobiles,” says UFCW Canada Local 501 President Alain Lachaîne. “UFCW Canada membership gives them the voice and strength they need to improve their working conditions and advance their demands.”
