Calgary Quest Society workers join the union – UFCW 401

Calgary – March 25, 2015 – UFCW Canada Local 401 is proud to welcome workers at Calgary Quest Society as new members of the Local Union. The Alberta Labour Board certified the new Local 401 bargaining unit after a majority of workers voted "YES" to join the union.

The organizing drive took place over many weeks, and the members remained committed despite many challenges. At the vote, workers elected to join Local 401 – giving them a strong voice at the bargaining table and a fair grievance procedure.

Once workers have had the ability to send in their proposals, Local 401 will send the employer a notice to bargain. Employees of Calgary Quest Society are excited to have representation, and are looking forward to taking part in the negotiation process to solidify and improve their working conditions.

Calgary Quest Society, also known as Calgary Quest School is a special education private school that offers a wide range of education and therapy for children ranging in ages from two to twenty.
