Returns for Leukemia bottle drive – May 23 & 24

Campbellville, Ont. – May 19, 2015 – UFCW Canada members across Ontario are encouraged to support crucial blood cancer research by participating in the annual Returns for Leukemia bottle drive on the weekend of May 23-24, 2015.

Now in its milestone 10th year, the Returns for Leukemia bottle drive is a joint initiative between UFCW Canada Local 12R24 and The Beer Store in support of the research efforts of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada (LLSC). Throughout the weekend of May 23-24, customers and community partners in Ontario will be invited to donate their empty bottles or cash to this life-saving cause – with 100 percent of the proceeds going directly to the LLSC.

The Returns for Leukemia bottle drive is one of the many outreach efforts of Canada's leading and most progressive union and has helped save countless lives by raising more than $9.6 million for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada.

In addition to donations, volunteers are also needed for this important cause. To learn more about the Returns for Leukemia campaign and how you can get involved, click here.
