UFCW Canada – BDM Scholarship Winner: Karen Tse, UFCW 247

Coquitlam, B.C. – June 5, 2015 – Karen Tse is one of eighteen UFCW Canada – BDM Scholarship winners for 2014. Currently completing her Arts Associate degree at Douglas College, Karen is a proud UFCW Canada Local 247 member who works at the Real Canadian Superstore in Coquitlam, British Columbia.

Sister Tse had the following to say about winning a UFCW Canada – BDM Scholarship:

"I was thrilled to learn of my selection for winning the UFCW Canada Beggs-Dowling-Mathieu Scholarship and I am deeply appreciative of your support. The financial assistance UFCW Canada provides will be of great help to me in paying my educational expenses, and it will allow me to concentrate more of my time for studying."

Every year UFCW Canada offers a total of eighteen union scholarships worth $1,000 each to members, their spouses, and dependants for post-secondary education. The BDM scholarship was created to honour past UFCW leaders William Beggs, Fred Dowling, and Roméo Mathieu.
