Members at Savoura Danville ratify first contract – UFCW 501

Danville, Que. – September 3, 2015 – UFCW Canada Local 501 members working at the Savoura greenhouse facility in Danville, Quebec recently ratified their first collective agreement.

The Savoura Danville members grow and process tomatoes and tomato products for one of the largest greenhouse vegetable production and marketing companies in Quebec.

The new contract runs for three years and secures a number of gains for members, including a 1.7 percent wage increase over the term of the agreement.

The contract also maintains the workers' group insurance plan while providing guaranteed hours of 40 hours per week and a fifth vacation week to members.

In addition, migrant agriculture workers are now included in the wage scales of the agreement.
