Members at Mobile Climate Control achieve new agreement — UFCW 175 Concord, Ont. – November 14, 2015 – UFCW Canada Local 175 members working at Mobile Climate Control in Concord, Ontario have ratified a new collective agreement.

Mobile Climate Control provides heating, cooling, ventilation and air conditioning services for buses, trucks, utility, construction, agricultural, forestry, defense, mining and material handling vehicles.

The new contract provides the more than 200 members wage increases of at least 2 per cent in each year of the agreement. Language improvements also include the reclassification of 25 employees immediately into higher paying jobs and higher rates of pay.

Members will also benefit from one additional floater holiday to bring their entitlement to a total of three per year. Vision care improves to $80, up from $135, and the dental fee cap increases to $1,600, up from $1,500, per contract year. The dispensing fee cap for prescriptions increases to $10, up from $7, and the reimbursement amount for required doctor's notes also increases. The new contract also includes a safety boot allowance.

New language also provides interdepartmental training and transfers, and enhanced union security.
