New webCampus courses for October and November!

webCampus is launching two new courses in October for our members and their families, as well as social justice partners, and they are free of charge and can be taken at you own pace from anywhere an internet connection is available.

The following two courses to be run in October and November will be available (in English only):

POLITICS MATTER, WOMEN MATTER

October 30 – November 23, 2012

Course Description:

People interact all the time and much of this activity has a purpose, such as buying stuff, negotiating agreements or simply finding ways to get together. Many of these interactions are based on an understanding of how people will act and react. This understanding can be described as politics - the way things get done. However, the level and sophistication of politics today has intimidated many and bored even more. Yet, it is only through connecting with others about things that matter that allows society to figure out what the next step will be. And the next steps we take will invariably affect our children and our children's children. This course will serve as an introduction to Canadian politics (how things get done) and an invitation to women to get involved.

Course Objectives:

CANADA’S ENVIRONMENTAL RECORD
October 30 – November 23, 2012

Course Description:

This course builds on a previous webCampus course 'Our Environment: Welcome to the Issues'. Learners will gain a better understanding of Canada’s environmental record within the global picture. Our nation, like every other nation on earth, shares so many things - air, water and land. Because of our interconnectedness, it is important we understand the standards that are being adopted by other countries.

Registration is now open. To register for the new courses, and to find out more about webCampus, visit www.ufcw.ca/webcampus, or call toll-free at 1-866-865-0202.
