Workers at Primary Response Security join the union – UFCW 333

Workers at Primary Response Security join the union – UFCW 333Oshawa, Ont. – February 17, 2016 – Workers at Primary Response Security & Intelligence are the newest members of UFCW Canada Local 333 after voting to join the union last month.

The Primary Response members work as security guards at the Ontario Ministry of Finance building in Oshawa, Ontario. They joined the union to obtain better wages, fair benefits, and job security.

The workers at Primary Response join many other security employees in Ontario who have chosen UFCW Local 333 as their voice in the workplace, including members at SecureTek Monitoring Solutions in Aurora and Doral Holdings Security Guards in Welland.

"Building density in a largely non-unionized industry is a huge challenge, but unionizing is the only way that security workers can achieve decent working conditions," says Richard McNaughton, president of UFCW Canada Local 333.

"The Primary Response members have chosen a strong advocate to advance their interests at the bargaining table, as Local 333 has decades of experience representing security guards in Ontario," Brother McNaughton adds.
