Hotel workers at Comfort Inn Oshawa join the union – UFCW 333

Oshawa, Ont. – March 4, 2016 – Workers at the Comfort Inn hotel in Oshawa, Ontario are the newest members of UFCW Canada Local 333 after voting to join the union last month.

The Comfort Inn members work as housekeepers, maintenance employees, and front desk staff for one of the most popular business-class hotel chains in Canada. They joined the union to obtain better benefits, a living wage, and a strong voice in the workplace.

The workers at Comfort Inn join many other hotel employees who have chosen UFCW Canada as their voice in the workplace, including UFCW 206 members at the Hampton Inn & Suites in Markham, Ontario and UFCW 401 members at the Kaybob Lodge in Foxcreek, Alberta.

"I would like to congratulate and welcome the new members at Comfort Inn," says UFCW Canada Local 333 President Richard McNaughton. "We will do everything it takes to advance your interests at the bargaining table and ensure that your needs are respected in the workplace," Brother McNaughton adds.
