Workers at Comfort Hotel Airport North join the union – UFCW 333

Toronto – March 22, 2016 – Workers at the Comfort Hotel Airport North, located just minutes away from the Toronto Pearson International Airport, are the newest members of UFCW Canada Local 333 after voting to join the union last month.

The Comfort Hotel members work as front desk staff for one of the most popular hotel chains in Canada. They joined the union to obtain fair benefits, better wages, improved scheduling, and a strong voice in their workplace and at the bargaining table.

The workers at Comfort Hotel Airport North join many other hotel employees in Ontario who have chosen UFCW Canada as their voice in the workplace, including UFCW 333 members at the Comfort Inn hotel in Oshawa and UFCW 206 members at the Hampton Inn & Suites in Markham.

"We continue to increase our density in the hotel industry to ensure that more hotel workers can make a living wage, have decent benefits, and retire with dignity," says UFCW Canada Local 333 President Richard McNaughton. "This is an important victory for the Comfort Hotel workers and we are excited to welcome the new members to UFCW," Brother McNaughton adds.
