webCampus Spotlight: Melody Stark

Since getting involved as a Shop Steward with UFCW, I have taken many in-class courses through my Local, and online with webCampus.

I cannot even begin to explain how much these courses have enriched my life!

I am now the bearer of so many tools to assist me not only in my workplace but also in my family life, my finances, and my community, along with the choices I make (and feeling confident that I have made the right ones), and my general outlook of the world.

It is my belief that webCampus courses offer a unique experience to each participant, as we learn in different ways and at different levels. webCampus accommodates everyone!

Some members don’t want to attend in-class courses as they can find them intimidating.

webCampus is so great because you don’t have to change your life schedule to learn. You can learn when YOU want to learn, wherever you might be!

I strongly believe that coupling the online courses with in-class courses offered by our Locals truly embeds the knowledge in a member.

I have been asked on several occasions “Where did you learn all this?” and I am so proud to say “MY UNION!”

I also love boasting to members from other unions about our webCampus.

We, as UFCW Canada members, are truly the envy of others.

Thank you webCampus!

In solidarity,

Melody Stark
