UFCW Canada partners with Conestoga College for Recognition of Learning program

President Meinema with Sandra Schelling of Conestoga College

Toronto – May 5, 2016 – Canada’s leading union is proud to announce an innovative new partnership between Conestoga College and webCampus, UFCW Canada’s free online education and training program.

As part of this groundbreaking partnership, UFCW Canada members and their families who successfully complete approved webCampus courses can have the courses recognized as a tuition-free contribution to a Recognition of Learning (ROL) credential through Conestoga College, based in Kitchener, Ontario.

Under the program, eligible participants can pursue ROL credentials in the fields of Social Justice, Communications, and Health and Safety. Applicants must e-mail webCampus their intent to participate in this program to receive full details on time limits, costs, the registration process, and transfer credit equivalencies.

UFCW Canada National President Paul Meinema recently met with Sandra Schelling, Dean of Continuing Education, Online Learning, and Corporate Training at Conestoga College, to sign the historic partnership agreement at the union’s National Office in Toronto.

“UFCW Canada is proud to be working with Conestoga College to offer this valuable program to webCampus participants,” Meinema remarked at the meeting.

“Given that all webCampus courses are free to UFCW Canada members and their families, participating in this program can provide significant cost savings for those interested in pursuing a Recognition of Learning credential,” he added.
