Toronto – May 13, 2016 – UFCW Canada is proud to announce a dynamic new partnership between the Centre for Labour Studies at Brock University and UFCW Canada's groundbreaking free online education program, webCampus.

The new partnership brings many advantages to webCampus users who currently attend or will attend Ontario's Brock University. UFCW Canada members and their families who successfully complete approved webCampus courses may have the completed courses recognized as transfer credits towards a portion of a Certificate or Undergraduate degree in Labour Studies from Brock University.

Brock University, located in southern Ontario is one of Canada's leading educational institutions. The Labour Studies program at Brock equips students with a strong understanding of labour foundations that may lead to a wide range of careers in labour and employment relations, workplace education and training, public policy and administration, and social justice and advocacy.

"We are thrilled to announce this partnership with Brock University," says UFCW Canada Executive Assistant Barry Sawyer. "Through webCampus, UFCW Canada members and their family members who are Labour Studies students at Brock have the opportunity to receive these credits at no extra cost to them. In fact, through this partnership, they now have the ability to save money on Brock tuition by taking some of the free online courses through webCampus."

"This agreement will help facilitate the transition from union education to a university education for UFCW Canada members looking to obtain a degree from Brock," says Dr. Larry Savage, Director for the Brock University Centre for Labour Studies. "The agreement also demonstrates the Centre's commitment to working with the labour movement to provide greater opportunities for union members to obtain a Labour Studies degree."
