Stop cutbacks at Canada Post

Ottawa – October 3, 2016 – UFCW Canada is calling on all activists to make their voices heard to stop the proposed cutbacks to Canada's postal service.

The federal government is currently considering changes and cutbacks to Canada Post services that could mean jobs cuts, a reduction in mail delivery days, elimination of door-to-door services, higher postage rates, and the closure of vital community post offices.

UFCW Canada is calling on all members and activists to inform Canada Post and the federal government to drop these proposals that could have a devastating impact on our postal service and our Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW) brothers and sisters.

Make your voice heard. Fill out an on online survey by clicking here to protest against further cuts to Canada Post, and to show your support for new services that would provide a better, public postal system for all Canadians.

Let the government know what your key issues are:

"UFCW Canada members share CUPW's concern about the proposed cutbacks to Canada's postal service," says UFCW Canada National President Paul Meinema. "We all need to join in the call to ensure that the government maintains the Canada Post we know, want, and need."
