Workers at Pâtes et Croûtes join the union – UFCW 500

Boucherville, Que. – October 6, 2016 – Workers at Pâtes et Croûtes are the newest members of UFCW Canada Local 500 after saying "Yes!" to joining the union.

Pâtes et Croûtes, which also operates under the banner Novali Gourmet, is a food processing plant located in Boucherville, Quebec specializing in pastry, muffins and baked goods.

The 40 workers at the plant joined the union to improve their working conditions and bring justice to their workplace. The bargaining unit was recently certified by the Tribunal administratif du Québec (‘‘Quebec administrative tribunal’’).

"We are very proud and happy that the workers at Pâtes et Croûtes have chosen UFCW Local 500 to be their union," says UFCW Canada Local 500 President Antonio Filato. "With our vast experience in the food business, Local 500 understands the needs of the membership as we prepare to negotiate a first collective agreement."
