Members at Les Spécialités Prodal achieve first contract – UFCW 500Saint-Bernard, Que. – January 12, 2017 – UFCW Canada Local 500 members working at Les Spécialités Prodal in Saint-Bernard, Quebec have achieved their first contract. The Prodal members make specialty pork products and deli meats for one of Quebec’s most well-known meat producers.

Members unanimously ratified the three-year contract, which includes progressive salary increases and is retroactive to November 2016.

The new collective agreement provides two wage increases: one on the worker’s anniversary date of hiring, and one on the 1st of September every year (applicable to all workers). As well, the employer will contribute $0.18 per hour per worker to the UFCW Quebec Dental Plan, and workers will have up to 80 percent of their dental care fees reimbursed.

Other highlights of the contract include:
