Members at Ingredion Canada ratify new agreement – UFCW 175

Members at Ingredion achieve new contract – UFCW 175London, Ont. – January 13, 2017 – UFCW Canada Local 175 members working at Ingredion Canada in London, Ontario have ratified a new collective agreement that brings wage increases, improved contract language, and more.

Over the course of the four year contract, members will receive wage increases totalling 10.75%. In addition, utility skill block pay improves by $500 and members will also receive an additional statutory holiday day in the form of a personal day paid at double time.

New contract language now allows retirees to receive their full vacation entitlement if they retire within the first day of the new vacation year. Members will also benefit from language improvements including a reduced sunset clause of 12 months. The bereavement entitlement also improves to provide additional time off from work. Members will now also receive paid time to introduce new members to the union.

As well, maintenance department workers will receive an increased tool allowance of $600 per year, and all members will receive up to $300 per year toward the purchase of safety shoes.

Ingredion manufactures sweeteners, starches, nutrition ingredients, and biomaterials that are used in everyday products from foods and beverages to paper and pharmaceuticals.
