Members at Black Velvet Distillers ratify new agreement – UFCW 401

Lethbridge, Alta. – February 13, 2017 – UFCW Canada Local 401 members working at Black Velvet Distillers in Lethbridge, Alberta have ratified a new collective agreement.

The new contract includes a number of gains such as pension increases in each year; an improved boot allowance; increases to benefits including eye glass coverage as well as improved chiropractic and wellness care.

The contract also features significant increases to shift premiums, as well as wage increases in each year of the agreement. Members will also receive retroactive pay.

Black Velvet whisky has been produced in Canada since 1951. The UFCW Local 401 member-made, renowned whiskey is sold in over 55 countries around the world.
