Orford, Que. – July 18, 2017 – Young UFCW members from across Quebec recently gathered for the latest session of the 2017 UFCW Canada Young-Workers Internship Program (YIP).

The program, known in the province as SAJ, brought together 18 young UFCW Canada members for a week of dynamic learning and training. Participants had the opportunity to learn a fresh take on labour history, organizing, globalization, diversity, and many other topics.

The Quebec YIP session also provided participants with hands-on training in collective bargaining, with a focus on teaching skills essential for helping UFCW members excel in their workplace and at the bargaining table.

"It's always great to see the enthusiasm that young workers bring to the SAJ program, and this year's group was no exception," says UFCW Canada National President Paul Meinema. "Now in its third year, SAJ has grown tremendously and has become the leading training and education program for young workers in Quebec."

The latest session of YIP is currently underway in Gimli, Manitoba. You can stay up to date with the program by following YIP on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram. To learn more about the UFCW Canada Young-Workers Internship Program, click here
