New webCampus course for September – Culinary Skills: Intro to the Bakery

Toronto – September 4, 2017 – UFCW Canada's groundbreaking online education program, webCampus, is launching a brand new course for the month of September.

The free online course is being offered in English from September 6 to September 19 and is available to all UFCW Canada members and their family members, as well as our community partners.

The new course is described as follows:

Culinary Skills: Intro to the Bakery

If cooking is an art, then baking is a science. Baker's are some of the most system-oriented individuals in the kitchen. A chef's life is chaotic and they live and breathe the chaos, however, a baker lives and dies by what he or she can measure and weigh.

This course will provide insight to what it's like to work in a professional bakery, either in a grocery store, commercial or specialty bakery. For those of you who simply enjoy baking or want to get better, we hope there's some insights for you too.
