New webCampus course for October – Mental Health Matters: The Mental Health Disconnect

Toronto – September 20, 2017 – UFCW Canada's ground-breaking online education program, webCampus, is launching a brand new course for the month of October.

The free online course is being offered in English from October 2 to 27 and is available to all UFCW Canada members and their family members, as well as our community partners.

The new course is described as follows:

Mental Health Matters: The Mental Health Disconnect

According to the World Health Organization, there are over 350 million people in the world living with a mental illness. That means we will all interact with someone experiencing a mental illness at some point in our lives. It also means that the people you would not expect to experience such an illness – like friends, family, coworkers, or your boss – will be the ones fighting it. In this context, we explore the common types of mental illness and the effects of these illnesses on our mental health.

This course is part of the Mental Health Matters series from webCampus, which aims to educate participants about mental health and remove the stigmas surrounding various mental illnesses. Be on the lookout for new courses in the series later this year.

Registration for the "Mental Health Matters: The Mental Health Disconnect" course is now open. To register for this free online course, and to find more out more about the webCampus program, visit the webCampus website.
