Members at Nexcycle Plastic achieve new contract – UFCW 1006A

Brampton, Ont. – December 15, 2017 – UFCW Canada Local 1006A members working at Nexcycle Plastic have recently ratified a new contract.

The new three-year agreement covers approximately 50 workers at the Brampton, Ontario-based plant.

“Our membership made significant progress in these negotiations due to their solidarity and unity,” says UFCW Local 1006A President Wayne Hanley. “I am proud to congratulate them on this new contract, which provides significant gains for workers,” he adds.

Founded in 1985, Nexcycle Plastics is a recycler of plastic and glass materials, repurposing post-industrial and post-consumer plastic materials.

Negotiations were led by UFCW 1006A Eastern Region Director Don Taylor, with support from Union Representative Gord Jackson.
