UFCW Canada – BDM Scholarship winner: Sean Sandrino

Saskatoon, Sask. – February 2, 2018 – Sean Sandrino is one of 18 UFCW Canada – BDM Scholarship winners for 2017. 

Currently enrolled in the Electronic Systems Engineering Technology program at Saskatchewan Polytechnic, Sean is a proud UFCW Local 1400 member working as a baker at the Tim Hortons location inside Saskatoon John G. Diefenbaker International Airport. 

Brother Sandrino had the following to say about winning a UFCW Canada – BDM Scholarship:

“Thanks for your support in helping me aim for my passion and dreams, and to help me grab the opportunity to study here so that I can further my knowledge and skills. This award would absolutely help me financially to pay all my expenses and provide for my family. Thank you UFCW for your generosity.”

Every year, UFCW Canada offers a total of 18 union scholarships worth $1,000 each to members, their spouses, and dependents for post-secondary education. The BDM Scholarship was created to honour past UFCW leaders William Beggs, Fred Dowling, and Romeo Mathieu.
