Members at l’Auberge de la Montagne Coupée ratify first contract – UFCW 1991PSaint-Jean-de-Matha (Que.) – April 12, 2018 – UFCW Canada Local 1991P members working at the Auberge de la Montagne Coupée hotel have unanimously ratified their first collective agreement, which runs until spring 2021.

The 30 UFCW members work as cooks, servers, dishwashers, chambermaids, massage therapists, caretakers, cleaners, clerks, and receptionists at the 4-star hotel, located in Saint-Jean-de-Matha, Quebec. 

The new agreement introduces a pay scale with wage increases ranging from 2 to 17 percent, depending on the job category, as well as a yearly increase of 1.5 percent for all employees. The employer has also agreed to contribute to the UFCW Quebec Dental Plan, ensuring that workers will have 80 percent of their dental care costs reimbursed.

“We are very proud to announce a first collective agreement for the members at Auberge de la Montagne Coupée. This contract will improve working conditions in several different areas,” says Mario Maisonneuve, the President of UFCW Canada Local 1991P. “The ratification of this contract demonstrates that the bargaining committee did an excellent job, and that the members are united together in defending good jobs,” he adds.
