UFCW Canada – BDM Scholarship winner: Cassandra Tosco, UFCW 500

UFCW Canada – BDM Scholarship winner: Cassandra Tosco, UFCW 500St-Hubert, Que. – August 4, 2018 – Cassandra Tosco is one of eighteen UFCW Canada - BDM Scholarship winners for 2017.

Currently, Cassandra is in the first-year Bachelor of Commerce program at the John Molson School of Business at Concordia University in Montreal. Cassandra is also a proud member of UFCW Local 500, employed at the Maxi & Cie grocery store in St-Hubert.

“Thank you to UFCW Canada for giving me the opportunity to receive a Beggs-Dowling-Mathieu Scholarship. I am very happy about being chosen,” says Sister Tosco. “I’m grateful this scholarship will allow me not only to pay a significant part of my tuition fees but also lifts some weight off my shoulders. Thank you once again!”

Every year UFCW Canada offers a total of 18 union scholarships worth $1,000 each to members, their spouses, and dependents for post-secondary education. The BDM Scholarship was created to honour past UFCW leaders William Beggs, Fred Dowling, and Roméo Mathieu.
