Warehouse workers at AuctionMaxx.com join the union, UFCW 1006A

Toronto – September 1, 2018 – Warehouse workers at AuctionMaxx, an online auction house based in Toronto, recently voted to join the union, UFCW Local 1006A.

Local 1006A’s newest members work in the online company’s logistics centre, which stores a wide variety of AuctionMaxx items, everything from tools to pet supplies to jewelry.

AuctionMaxx employees initially reached out to the union for greater job security, schedule protection, and improved wages.

“Workers from all industries continue to turn to our union for fairness and respect on the job,” says Local 1006A President Wayne Hanley. “I want to congratulate our newest members on their courage and determination in successfully joining our great union.”

UFCW 10006A also reports that the new AuctionMaxx members are looking forward to negotiating their first union contract.

The AuctionMaxx workers are the latest group to join Local 1006A this summer, following other successful campaigns at Emseal and Best Western Oshawa.
