2012 BDM Scholarship Winner: Keven Gauthier, Local 501

Montreal – January 23, 2013 – Keven is one of the happy winners of the 2012 UFCW Canada Beggs-Dowling-Mathieu scholarships. He was presented with a cheque in the amount of $1,000 by Local 501 President Alain Lachaîne and Secretary-Treasurer Mario Délisle.

Congratulations to the winner who is the son of Mrs. Nancy Lévesque, a labourer at the Diageo distillery in Valleyfield, Quebec. Mrs. Lévesque has been working at this distilling plant for the past nine and a half years. Over the years, she also worked in the bottling department.

Keven is currently enrolled in a vocational diploma programme at the Centre des Moissons de Beauharnois where he is studying arboriculture and pruning. Upon completion of his training in April 2013, Keven intends to work with his father whose occupation is tree pruner.
