BDM Scholarship helps UFCW 1518 member build on scholastic goals

Chilliwack, B.C.— August 9, 2019 – Kourtney Trill is one of eighteen winners of the UFCW Canada – BDM Scholarship. Kourtney is a student at the University of the Fraser Valley in the Architectural Drafting Certificate Program, and is also a proud UFCW 1518 member who works at Save-On-Foods.

“This award is going to help me cover the costs of textbooks and other needed supplies to complete my program,” says Sister Trill. “I am grateful to my union for this scholarship as it allows me to focus on my studies knowing that these extra costs will be covered.”

The UFCW Canada – BDM Scholarship offers a total of $18,000 in scholarships to UFCW Canada members and their families and is one of more than 25 union scholarships available to members and their families every year, totaling more than $300,000.

The deadline to apply for the BDM Scholarship for 2019 is September 30.
