Food processing workers at VegPro join the union – UFCW 1518
Coldstream, B.C. – April 10, 2020 – Food processing workers at VegPro International are the newest members of UFCW Local 1518 after recently saying “Yes!” to joining the union.
The new members work in the production department at VegPro, the largest vegetable producer in Canada, specializing in the packaging of baby lettuces and other high-quality vegetables.
The VegPro employees joined the union to gain a strong voice at work, as well as fair wages and benefits, job security, and a schedule they can count on.
“We are very excited to welcome production workers at VegPro to our great union,” says UFCW 1518 President Kim Novak. “We look forward to working with the VegPro members to negotiate long-lasting improvements to their jobs. By working together, we can make positive changes at VegPro and help members build a better life,” she adds.
