2012 BDM Scholarship Winner: Jacqueline Kerr, Local 206
Sarnia, Ont. – February 20, 2013 – Jacqueline Kerr is one of the 18 BDM Scholarships recipients for 2012. Jacqueline is the daughter of UFCW Canada Local 206 Member Nelly Pittao (pictured with Local 206 representative Cliff Kostyniuk) who works at Swiss Chalet in London, Ontario.
Jacqueline is in her second year of the Chemical Production and Power Engineering program at Lambton College in Sarnia, Ontario. “This semester I will be embarking on a co-operative learning placement and the BDM Scholarship award will allow me to focus on learning during this period,” says Jacqueline. “When I am finished I would like to be involved with large scale energy production contributing to meeting future demands.”
Every year UFCW Canada offers a total of 18 annual BDM scholarships of $1,000 each to members, their spouses, and dependants for post secondary study.
