UFCW 247 members at Chilliwack Superstore raise $12K for leukemia research

Chilliwack, B.C. – November 13, 2020 – UFCW Local 247 members working at Real Canadian Superstore #1523 in Chilliwack, British Columbia have raised over $12,000 in support of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada’s (LLSC) life-saving efforts to find a cure for leukemia, lymphoma, and other types of blood cancer.   

"The members at Superstore 1523 have been very active when it comes to raising funds for leukemia research," says Dan Goodman, Secretary-Treasurer of UFCW Local 247. "And we want thank them for their efforts to give back to the community, which they have been doing for a long time,” he adds.

Goodman and UFCW 247 Union Representative Heather McLaverty recently visited the store to hand out pins to members in recognition of their stellar fundraising work for the LLSC.

The Local would also like to give a special shout-out to Barbara Chandrock, Bonnie Barber, Curtis Penner, and the members at Superstore #1523 for their incredible work in helping to fight blood cancer.
