Warehousing members at VersaCold achieve new contract – UFCW 501
Ville Saint-Laurent, Que. – March 22, 2021 – UFCW 501 members working at VersaCold recently agreed to a new five-year contract that increases wages upwards of 45 per cent over the life of the collective agreement.
The hiring rate increases from $15.67 per hour to $18.50 and the maximum rate increases from $16.65 per hour to $20.81 in the first year, to $25.29 per hour worked in the fifth year.
“We are very pleased with the signing of this new agreement for our VersaCold members,” says Alain Lachaîne, UFCW 501 President. “This agreement helps consolidate quality jobs and improves the working conditions of our members in the warehousing sector. Congratulations to the negotiating committee.”
Members will also see increases to personal and sick leave, in addition to increased vacation entitlements and company contributed pension allotments.
