UFCW Canada, along with migrant worker allies, to host groundbreaking web series

Toronto – April 29, 2021 – Along with allies from the Ontario Federation of Labour (OFL), Justice for Migrant Workers (J4MW), Migrant Workers Alliance, and Ryerson University, UFCW Canada will host a three-part series that explores the experiences of migrant agricultural workers in Ontario.

Part one of the three-part series will be live streamed on May 5, 2021 from 7pm-8:30pm. Participants are encouraged to register at powerofmany.ca.

The web-series stems from the recent crisis in Windsor-Essex where hundreds of migrant workers contracted COVID-19 – two of which succumbed to their illness – and many others describing inhumane living and working conditions.

For more than three decades, UFCW Canada has worked in collaboration with the Agriculture Workers Alliance (AWA) to lead the fight for migrant workers’ rights. To learn more about this important work, visit UFCW Canada’s Agriculture Workers website.
