UFCW Canada wins 2013 ILCA Awards for Content, Newsletter, and Visual Communications

UFCW Canada wins 2013 ILCA Awards for Content, Newsletter, and Visual Communications Toronto – October 10, 2013 – Canada’s most innovative force for workers, UFCW Canada, has won back-to-back First Awards for Best Content after being recognized by the International Labor Communications Association (ILCA), for the second year in a row, as the North American labour movement’s most dynamic content source.

In addition to the 2013 ILCA First Award for Best Content, ufcw.ca also won the second award for Best Electronic Newsletter for DIRECTIONS, the union’s twice-weekly e-bulletin.

UFCW Canada communications were also recognized with the Third Award for Best Visual Communications for “Dear Prime Minister Harper, the Public Purse is Not Your War Chest!”, one of several UFCW Canada infographics that have recently gone viral, in this case earning 1,000,000 views and more than 5,500 Shares.

UFCW Canada Locals 175 & 633 also won big at the 2013 ILCA Awards with the Third Award for Best Design in the print category for their outstanding awareness piece called “Scent Sensitivity: Health & Safety Insight.”

The Annual ILCA Awards honour outstanding print and electronic communications by labour organizations. ILCA is the professional organization of labour communicators in North America, with several hundred national and Local Unions competing for the awards.
