CURC launches Fairness Panel webcast on October 22

Ottawa – October 17, 2013 – UFCW Canada is calling on activists and social justice allies to promote and participate in an exciting new webcast session sponsored by one of the union’s community allies later this month.

As part of its biennial convention on October 22-25, 2013, the Congress of Union Retirees of Canada (CURC) is hosting an opening night Fairness panel that will feature the legendary Ed Broadbent speaking on "Equality and the Importance of Unions.”

The panel will be webcast on the CURC websites in both English and French from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on October 22. Those watching the webcast will be able to submit questions to the speakers and hear them the answer the inquiries live.

Speeches from the webcast will be archived on the CURC websites for future viewing and will serve as a vital resource for Local Unions to use as part of the Together Fairness Works campaign that UFCW Canada and other unions are now embarking on.

UFCW Canada Local Unions are encouraged to promote the CURC Fairness webcast among their members and community allies and are asked to post a link to the webcast on their website.
