Course description:

PROUD TO BE UNION:  With more than 250,000 members, you will find UFCW Canada members working mainly in the retail, manufacturing, and service sectors. The largest part of our membership works at some level of the food industry. But, UFCW Canada members are also work in hospitals, retirement homes, daycare facilities, hotels, and factories, as well as a wide range of other workplaces: from banks and taxis to funeral homes and laundries.

This course will help you to  – understand what our union structure is from members to International organizations and the roles they play; understand what unions do for us as workers and as members of our communities; understand why unions are still useful historically and currently; and to show to participants what the anti-union employers don't want you to know.
