New webCampus courses for May

Toronto – April 28, 2014 – UFCW Canada’s groundbreaking online education program, webCampus, is launching two new courses for the month of May. The free online courses are being offered from April 28th to May 30th and are available to all UFCW Canada members and their families, as well as our community partners. The new courses are:

Internet Safety – English ONLY

The Internet is a great tool for gathering information, but it can be a dangerous place if you are not careful. There are many reasons why you need to use the highest security measures while surfing the Internet in order to keep yourself and your loved ones safe. Regardless of age, you need to protect yourself, your family, and your personal information so that no one steals your identity or hacks your banking information.

This course will introduce you to the following areas:

Proud to Be Union! – NEW in French

With more than 250,000 members, you will find UFCW Canada members working mainly in the retail, manufacturing, and service sectors. The largest part of our membership works at some level of the food industry. But UFCW Canada members also work in hospitals, retirement homes, daycare facilities, hotels, and factories, as well as a wide range of other workplaces: from banks and taxis to funeral homes and laundries.

This course will help you to understand what our union structure is, from members to International organizations; what unions do for us as workers and as members of our communities; why unions are more needed than ever; and what the anti-union employers don't want you to know about your rights at work.

Registration for both courses is now open. To register, visit the webCampus website today.
