My webCampus Experience: Microsoft Office Excel course

Toronto – May 31, 2014 – As the nation’s leading union, UFCW Canada offers our more than 250,000 members access to free online courses. From the comfort of one’s home, you can choose from a wide variety of courses in workplace training, health and safety, equity and diversity, and skills development, to name a few.

From June 2 to 27, members of our union can take advantage of courses in Basic and Advanced Microsoft Office Excel, offered in both French and English. Microsoft Office Excel is a powerful tool used to create and format spreadsheets. While common uses for Excel include spreadsheet creation and data charting, there are many personal applications that can make life easier. For example, you can use Excel to keep track of bills, develop a family budget, and utilize a mortgage loan calculator as well as a savings estimator.

"I already had some knowledge of Excel when I started this course, but I learned a lot that I did not know,” says Carrie Berlan, a member of UFCW Canada Local 247, “By taking this course I have found that there is so much that can be done in Excel and it can be used for pretty much anything."

“Thanks for this Excel course, I feel really empowered now,” says Gift Dhliwayo, a member of UFCW Canada Local 175, “I had very limited knowledge about Excel, but after going through this course I am now able to create my own spreadsheets for my expenses at home."
