Toronto – May 15, 2013 – Canada’s largest retail union, the United Food and Commercial Workers (UFCW Canada), is applauding Loblaw Companies Limited today for committing to sign the Accord on Fire and Building Safety in Bangladesh.
Washington, D.C. – May 14, 2013 – The following is a statement issued by United Food and Commercial Workers International Union (UFCW) President Joseph Hansen regarding the decision of H&M and other retailers to sign a legally binding agreement to improve workplace safety in Bangladesh:
Toronto – May 15, 2013 – UFCW Canada Local Union activists from across the country recently gathered in Toronto to participate in a one-day Worker Engagement Conference. As part of the event, attendees shared best practices on engaging union members and yet to be organized workers.
Toronto – May 14, 2013 – May 17th is recognised as the International Day against Homophobia (IDAHOT), which was established in 2004 to commemorate the World Health Organisation’s decision to remove homosexuality from the list of mental disorders.
