Ottawa – September 8, 2014 – More than 6,000 people gathered at the University of Ottawa from August 21 to 24 to take part in the first-ever pan-Canadian Peoples’ Social Forum (PSF). The event attracted members of many different social movements from across the country.
Calgary – September 8, 2014 – UFCW Canada activists were loud and proud at this year's vibrant Calgary Pride Parade. The parade, held August 31, built on the momentum realized last year, with Calgarians lining the streets to show their pride and support for LGBTQ rights. Float entrants included some new and welcome faces, including four professional sports teams, marking one of the largest turnouts of professional athletes at a Pride Parade in Canada.
Mississauga, Ont. – September 6, 2014 – Almost one year after casting their votes to join the Union, workers at AIM Health were recently certified as a UFCW Canada Local 175 bargaining unit. The new members won their certification vote by an overwhelming majority, and are now part of Local 175's growing Health, Office & Professional Employees (HOPE) Sector.

Montreal – September 4, 2014 – UFCW Canada Local 500 members employed at Provigo Décarie Mohamed Sbaihi have gained their very first collective agreement. The duration of the contract is from July 2014 to December 2018.
Toronto – September 4, 2014 – American retail giant Target continues to fail workers at its Canadian stores by not providing employees with enough hours for them to make ends meet. One of the most common complaints from Team Members is the fact that the company has been cutting work hours ever since stores first opened in Canada.
