Winnipeg – October 15, 2013 – UFCW Canada Local 832 recently raised more than $55,600 for leukemia research at a Light the Night event in Winnipeg.

Ottawa – October 13, 2013 – A recent report from the Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives (CCPA) notes that by 2016 the tuition costs for undergraduate studies will almost have tripled compared to 1990.

Ottawa – October 10, 2013 – World Mental Health Day is celebrated every year on October 10th. The day was created by the World Health Organisation (WHO) to raise public awareness of mental health issues. This year’s theme is the elderly and mental health.
Vancouver – October 10, 2013 – As UFCW Canada local unions in the Prairie provinces were negotiating their latest agreements with the Loblaw Companies, members of the UFCW Canada National Loblaw Companies Committee were meeting in Vancouver to discuss the many everyday issues affecting UFCW Canada members at Loblaw grocery stores and warehouses from coast to coast.
Toronto – October 7, 2013 – UFCW Canada Local 401 in Alberta, Local 1400 in Saskatchewan, and Local 832 in Manitoba have all gained tentative agreements with Loblaw: benefiting more than 15,000 UFCW Canada Members. The Unity Bargaining efforts of the three Local Unions played a central effort in securing the tentative agreements with Canada’s largest food retailer.
Niagara Falls, Ont. – October 5, 2013 – More than 100 members and officers from UFCW Canada Local 12R24 enthusiastically participated in the Together Fairness Works workshop at the Local Union’s activist conference recently held in Niagara Falls, Ontario.
