After weeks in the making, the first-ever Liberation Cup Soccer Tournament recently took place in Virgil, Ontario. Four teams in total participated, and three of the teams were comprised of migrant workers. The fourth team travelled from Toronto representing the San Lorenzo Community Center.
Congratulations to the newest members of UFCW Canada Local 175. Fifty health care providers working at the Rose of Sharon Korean Long Term Care Facility in Toronto became union members on September 9, 2011 following a successful certification vote.

After four years of community outreach and non-stop organizing, the AWA recently surpassed the 10,000 member mark – confirming its role as the largest and most dynamic farm worker organization in Canada.
