Students get ready to go “All Out” to #TossTuition

Toronto – October 28, 2016 – Students and activists across the country are gearing up to go "All Out" on November 2 to protest against ever-increasing tuition fees.

The rallies – organized by the Canadian Federation of Students (CFS) and supported by UFCW Canada – are scheduled to take place in major municipalities and school campuses across the country, to call for a post-secondary education system which provides universal access to education.

In support of the CFS, UFCW Canada has launched the #TossTuition campaign, which calls for free, universal access to post-secondary education, because everyone should have the Freedom to Learn. To support the campaign, make your voice heard by Tweeting #TossTuition and #AllOutNov2 and explain why you support free tuition for all.

Over the past 25 years, average tuition fees across the country have increased by over 137% and students today, on average, graduate with over $28,000 of education-related debt. It's time to eliminate tuition fees for college and university students because post-secondary education is one of the biggest pathways to better opportunities, equality, and community building skills.
