New webCampus course for March
Toronto – February 17, 2017 – UFCW Canada's groundbreaking online education program, webCampus, is launching a brand new course for the month of March.
The free online course is being offered in English from February 27 to March 24 and is available to all UFCW Canada members and their families, as well as our community partners.
The third in a series of courses on culinary skills, the new course is described as follows:
Culinary Skills: Cooking Foundations
So you completed the webCampus course “Culinary Skills: The Chef’s Knife,” and you're inspired to learn more. The journey of every chef starts with learning the fundamentals of cooking. Having a clear understanding of these basics is necessary in order to work in a professional kitchen.
“Culinary Skills: Cooking Foundations”will introduce you to:

The general concept of cooking;

Understanding flavour and structure (how chefs create their dishes);

Culinary stocks (the fundamental basis for all culinary cooking);

Culinary sauces; and

Culinary cooking techniques and cooking methods.
Understanding these fundamentals will help ensure that your culinary journey begins on the right track.
