Back in the later part of 2008, I signed up for some Web Campus courses and have been hooked ever since.
The way the Campus works is incredible! You the instructors are there for us, looking out for us and wanting us to succeed.
I believe I have over eighty courses now and have achieved both Mohawk Certificates, Labor Studies and Health and Safety which I am very proud to have accomplished. In my heart I believe that this has had a huge part in me becoming the President of UFCW Local 864!
There have been many times that I have recalled lessons or content that I have learned through webCampus to help me deal with all sorts of issues. This does not mean I know or have been through everything, but it does give me a sense of confidence and not fear when dealing with our daily tasks and helping my fellow Sisters and Brothers.
Through some of my practical work experience with the Workers Compensation Board (WCB) I have passed information to injured workers to help upgrade computer skills, or take free on line courses. Some members in my unit will attest to the fact they found a whole new career thanks to something they read, learned or gained through webCampus. In fact, a senior case manager for the Nova Scotia WCB cannot believe what we offer to our members.
Did I mention this is all FREE!!
I have already signed up for three courses starting in September, and looking forward to continuing on with my webCampus studies!
Sincerely thanks for doing this UFCW and hope that this will be here for us forever to learn.
