UFCW OUTreach launches new survey for LGBTQ+ members, allies

Toronto – October 3, 2019 – Attention all UFCW Canada members: your union’s constituency group for LGBTQ+ issues and advocacy, UFCW OUTreach, wants to hear from you!

UFCW OUTreach has launched a new online survey aimed at measuring the impact of union values on LGBTQ+ workers. Your response is vital and once you access the survey, you can choose to complete it in English, French, or Spanish. Whether you identify as a member of the LGBTQ+ community or as an ally, your opinion will provide UFCW with important information on how we can provide a level of service and representation that best reflects the diversity of all UFCW members.

The survey can be accessed online at www.UFCWOutreachSurvey.org and it is anonymous. Each person who completes the survey will be offered an opportunity to win a gift card or Apple iPad as the grand prize. The survey can be accessed online until December 10, Human Rights Day. Specific survey results will only be made available to researchers at the University of California Labor Centre, who are working in partnership with UFCW OUTreach to administer this survey and who will provide a final report of their findings by Spring 2020.

LGBTQ+ rights are workers’ rights, so make your voice count! Access the survey here.

The “Measuring the Impact of Union Values on LGBTQ+ Workers” survey is one of several initiatives that UFCW OUTreach is undertaking to advance LGBTQ+ rights and inclusion for all UFCW members.
